Our Thoughts on Parenting and Childhood

Our Thoughts on Parenting and Family
As parents we will give our children lots of love, self-confidence and the courage to be themselves- very important for the teen years and becoming a well adjusted adult. Exploring and learning are a big part of our family life. We'll always be there when our cheld needs a boost of encouragement and a big hug. We'll strive to be role models for tolerance and compassion.

Kevin is a stay-at-home dad and John works near home so we can spend lots of time as a family. We love to do Daddy things like rocking the baby to sleep, play time, rubbing a sore tummy and making silly faces. We can't wait for our first family trip to Disney Land. But, we're realistic and we know from experience that parenting takes a lot of hard work too!

We'd like to adopt another child so that our children will grow up with a brother or sister. We want our children to know the joy of having a brother or sister to play with and count on throughout their lives.  Life is just better with a big sister or brother around!!!

OUR FAMILIES

We're both from big families with 2 sets of grandparents and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. We both have 4 brothers and sisters. John grew up in San Jose, California and Kevin grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. We spend most of our vacations with our families on trips to the beach or the mountains. It is a great chance for all the cousins to get together and have fun.

OUR DAUGHTER AYDEN AND A NIECE CAME INTO OUR LIVES THRUGH OPEN ADOPTION

We found out about open adoption through John's brother and sister-in-law who adopted an adorable baby girl through open adoption. When we told them how much we wanted to be Dads, they encouraged us to contact their adoption agency. Our daughter Ayden has been welcomed into our families with open arms and lots of love.  Our family plans have always included adopting a another child so our children will have a brother or sister.
